Meds Make A Difference!

So I thought I would do an update on the status of my depression. I went to the doctor a little over 2 weeks ago and she thinks that my depression is mainly hormonal. With that being said she doesn't want to mess with my hormones. I have had issues with my hormones in the past and now my cycles are regular so she doesn't want to mess with a good thing. She thinks that my brain just needs a reset so she actually put me on a drug that is most commonly used for seizures in children. Since it's not an actual anti-depressant it doesn't take 2 or more weeks to see a difference. In fact the day after I took the first pill I honestly feel less pressure pushing on me. I explained it to Michael like this...."Honey, I no longer have this overwhelming urge to pummel our children!" I really did feel better....normal! I felt that way for about a week and a half. Then the last week in June I started getting really irritable again. I had my second appointment with my Doctor and she added Vitamin D and Iron to my regimen. She wants to wait and see if this recent irritability is because of my cycle. I sure hope so because last week I was feeling SO much more like myself and I really liked it! I know that this whole thing might take some time to figure out, but I got a taste of what happiness felt like and I want it all the time.

Yes they really do make a difference. I don't like the thought of takig meds, but I've overcome that because I see results. I never thought you'd do it though, so I'm glad you're giving it a try.

My mother struggles with drs and meds, so she's been using passion flower drops (homeopathic) and it really really works. She's got a lot more bounce in her steps and you don't need a rx for that.

Everybodys different. Me, I would prefer to go with what a Dr says than mess something up accidentally by trying different things on my own. I am so so so glad you're at least trying this out. Now you can really say that you tried this or that and whether it worked or not. I hope this wasn't too blunt?

OH I am so glad you are feeling better honey. I am thinking a lot of mine is hormonal as well. It comes in waves. I have also had a pretty hard year so far, and a lot on my plate. I am giving it til the Fall to see if maybe all this stress is why I feel the way I feel.
