Salt Dough Ornaments!

On the last day of school, Zeke came home with an ornament he made in class, but it ended up breaking in his backpack. He was SO devastated!! I told him that we would make our own salt dough ornaments to replace the one that broke.

I saved this activity for Friday, December 22nd since that was our stay at home day. I was seriously so pumped for this day. I didn't want to go anywhere or see anyone. I just wanted to be at home with my babies and be together the whole day. It was absolutely wonderful!!!! I truly love my job, but Christmas time was super hard. I'm so used to being home with them and getting to do all things holiday and it was hard juggling it all and still feeling like we were in the Christmas spirit. This working mama thing is no joke!!!

Our first hurtle was finding the cookie cutters! The boys were ready to go. Unfortunately poor Ella had woke up in the middle of the night with a tummy bug. I still made sure she had ornaments, but we were sad she couldn't participate.

I found the dough recipe online and had tons!

We made one sheet of cookie cutter ornaments and then one sheet of round fingerprint ornaments.

After they cooled they were able to paint them!

Jack did so good painting Rudolf!

Later on when Ella felt a little bit better she was able to come decorate her fingerprint ornaments.

Each of the kids had 3 fingerprint ornaments. We kept one set for us and then gave the others away to Papa Martin and Ga-Ga & Pa for Christmas.
