For Ella's birthday this year she just wanted to see her friends!!! There were a few friends that couldn't come, but they are friends that she sees all the time so that wasn't too detrimental!
L to R - Lilyann, Lilianna, Aidry, Kendra, Ella, Riley & Olivia.
Ella hadn't seen Riley and Olivia since March 13th 2020 one the last day of public school when the schools closed down for the pandemic!
Ella's party was on Saturday, February 12th. Michael and the boys went to pick up the pizza and salad at Costco and then they headed out to have a guys day while us ladies had the house all to ourselves.
The girls visited and then we had lunch. Next up was the piñata. Ella had had this piñata for years. She bought it from the Bible Bucks store at church and we kept saying we'd use it, but then every year we'd forget. It didn't have any candy in it so it's not like the candy was old and gross. I bought a bunch of candy from the Winco bulk section and Ella and I stuffed it full.
I made the mistake of going from tallest to shortest....not sure why I thought that was a good idea. On Olivia's third whack she broke it. Thankfully the other girls were just laughing and diving for candy they didn't even care that they didn't get a chance to hit it. So unlike boys....my boys would have been so ticked that they didn't get a chance to smack it.
Olivia & Riley with the head of the piñata. They thought it would be funny to leave it hanging in the garage so the boys could see it when they got home. I do think that since the piñata was really old it was pretty brittle so it might have broken with whoever was the first person to hit it.
Time for presents!
Ella was so spoiled!
She got a hanging moon light, lighted clips to hold pictures, make-up brushes, make-up organizer, headband, candle maker, canvases and paints and so much more that I can't remember. It was such a great plethora of girly girl stuff!
Kendra and Lily actually got to spend the night the night before the party. It was so fun for Ella to get this extra time with them. Last year they sold their house and moved into their trailer at the KOA in Kent until they figured out what the plan was moving forward. The KOA ended up getting sold so just a couple weeks after this they moved over the mountains to be closer to the property they are building a house on. Thankfully they come over every once and while so we still get to see them occasionally!
Kendra is actually Ella's oldest friend. Ella was 3 months old and Kendra was 5 months old when Rachael and I first met! And now these girls are almost teenagers!
Olivia & Riley have grown so much in 2 years. They are really sweet young ladies and I know it filled Ella's heart with so much joy to get to see them again. Riley's family actually sold their house and moved, but they aren't on the other side of the state just down in Pierce County. Ella can't wait to have another playdate with them.
Aidry and Lilianna are 2 of Ella's newer friends from church. Aidry is actually cousins with Caitlynn....who was in DisneyWorld so that's why she wasn't at Ella's party. Lilianna's mom actually went to the same small Christian School that I went to growing up. Small world! These girls are so sweet and amazing. Ella loves to hang out with Aidry on Sunday's and we've made it almost a weekly tradition now! Lilianna is so gifted musically she's actually playing in the musical Matilda and she's is Matilda. She also sings a solo in front of the whole church a couple times a year!
It was such a nice day the girls decided we should walk to the park!
I just sat down on a bench to read while the girls did their thing. Swinging, gymnastics and giggling!
It was getting close to the time Lilianna had to leave for rehearsals so we headed back to the house to have cake!
Per the birthday girl I made vanilla cake with vanilla frosting!
Lilianna was the first to leave and then the girls slowly started to leave one by one. It was nice that it wasn't a huge exodus all at once. We even got to visit with the whole Dial Family for a bit at the very end. This day was pure perfection for Ella Grace. She felt so loved and her tank was so full from getting to see all her girlfriends. It was definitely a very Happy Birthday!
