Technically we were finished with all our school work for the year on June 3rd, but we were not finished with all the days we needed to attend school. So for our last week of "school" days we went on field trips. One of our field trips was to Clark Lake. This little lake is in Kent and it's right across the street from the church where the kids attend Taekwondo on Tuesday nights. So on Tuesday afternoon, June 7th, we picked up Jordan and set out to explore the park. This really served as double duty since Owen also needed more time in order to finish up PE for the year.
The park has lots of different trails going all over and it feels like your out there in the country, but really your right there in the middle of Kent.
There was a mommy duck with her 4 teenage duckies. They were so cute!!!
They actually followed us out of the water and down the trail a bit!
I love how these rocks were used as stairs and the grass is growing out under them.
The trails were great and exactly what you think of when you want to go hiking. I love how these big trees were shading the trail!
Clark Lake!
There were ants all over the park and we found these ants carrying this grub back for dinner!
This isn't a rock it's actually part of the root of a tree that someone painted!
We had just enough time to start down another trail where there was a boardwalk across a marshy area.
Unfortunately, it was getting close to being time to head to Taekwondo so we turned around and headed back. It will definitely be a park we were go hiking at again. Especially since this year I'll have 2 kids that need to get in their PE hours for school!
