This year my Dad asked my Mom what she wanted for her birthday and she picked...going to Zoolights with us. Coming from my mom who is ALWAYS freezing...this came as a big shock to me. But of course we weren't going to disappoint the Birthday Girl! :)
We first met at Mitzel's in Fife to have a nice dinner. Everything tasted great, but the service was a little slow. After that we headed to the zoo. When we got there they had the main road to the zoo blocked off and we ended up having to park in one of the lower lots and take a bus up to the zoo. Unfortunately they didn't really communicate to their bus drivers the route they should take nor the drop off point so we ended up making two laps around the zoo and our bus driver drove the wrong way down a one way road. That's where we got off! :)
I bought this snowsuit for Jack from one of the moms at my MOPS group. He's never been in it, but I knew he needed to be really bundle up. He was so mad though...he refused to bend!
Owen is in love with buses! He is always pointing out the Metro buses. We've always told him we would go on a bus at some point. I think that was the only good part about having to take a bus to the zoo. It was a dream come true for our little guy!

Look at that sweet red face! Both of our boys are sheet rubbers...they insist on rubbing their faces in their sheets when they sleep. So...they end up waking up with these red marks all over their faces. Plus Jack is teething right now (his upper 'I' teeth just popped through) so his spit is super acidic or something.
We brought the red wagon with us for the boys. By the time we made it down to the zoo entrance Jack was laying completely down on his back....I told ya he refused to bend!
Here we go!!!
Typical....you bring the wagon or the stroller and the kids barely ever ride in the dang thing.
Owen loved touching the lights...we actually had to pull him out of the bushes because he was wanting to touch them all.
Pictures of course don't do it justice. They are really beautiful!
After walking around for a little bit we noticed the carousel....INSIDE!!! YAY!!! Ga-Ga and Daddy sat and watched while Pa and I took the boys.

Owen picked out the "kitty cat" to ride on.

He was so happy!
Jack got to ride on the piggy, but he wasn't too sure about it.

He did end up enjoying himself for a time....
Then Pa had to come to the rescue!
After the carousel...Ga-Ga had to be the one to put Owen's glove back on. Ga-Ga does it best you know!
Self portrait!
Owen wanted to go get his picture by the big circle, but once he got on the other side he wasn't very happy because it wasn't lit on the back side.
I'm not exactly sure how long we stayed, but we were ready to go and get warm again. It was super cold! We of course had to figure out where the pick up spot was for the bus to take us back down to our cars.
Photographic proof that Jack picked Mama over Ga-Ga! ;)
I'm not sure what happened to the camera, but this picture would have been so nice! The boys were so tired...it was meltdown city by the time we got to the van, but neither of them fell asleep on the way home. They kind of got slap happy and were laughing and playing peek-a-boo with each other. It was really cute!
It was a really nice way to spend Ga-Ga's birthday! Love you mom!!!!
