On May 25th I took the kids out of school early and we headed down to Ga-Ga & Pa's. Ga-Ga had just been released from the hospital and needed to be cared for and Pa had a funeral to go to in Wyoming. I figured the kids would just get an extra long Memorial Day weekend. Michael was on-call so he wasn't able to come down with us. I had told the kids that we were there to help Ga-Ga and not the other way around. They were not to ask her for anything! They did great!!! They also helped clean up the house which was terrific!
Since the weather was going to be in the 80's I knew I would be setting up the pool and the slide and slide for them to play on.
Ga-Ga had bought this new baseball diamond slip and slide at the end of summer last year. The kids hadn't gotten a chance to try it out yet.
I got it all hooked up and they were ready to go.
We were a few kids shy of a whole team though!
Jackson got a base hit!
I think they are arguing about whether or not it was a double hit....just kidding I have no idea what's going on here!
Owen wanted to be the pitcher.
See home plate....that water spout is suppose to hold he ball up so you can hit it. I could not get it to shoot straight up so the ball wouldn't "hover" on the water right.
Jackson just ended up throwing the ball himself and hitting it that way.
Running the bases backwards!
Cute little hitter!
I honestly don't know how long they ended up playing with the slip and slide. I went inside to take care of Ga-Ga, but I know they had fun! I think they went back and forth between playing in the pool and on the slip and slide. No matter what they enjoyed it and it kept them cool and gave them a way to get their energy out!
