This year Zeke was turning 10 years old. For each of our kids when they turned 10 we had a party away from our house. For Owen went to GameWorks, Jack went to Laser Quest and Ella went to the Secret Garden Tea House. They all look so little at 10 years old!!!
Zeke's request was to go Mini Golfing. At first I planned for the party to be at the Kent Ice Arena where they have an outdoor mini-golf course. It's not the greatest, but I knew he would have fun. The only thing I was worried about was rain. May in Washington is not a guarantee that there won't be rain in fact it's quite the opposite. A couple weeks before the party we had friends over for dinner and we got to talking about Zeke's party and they told us about this awesome bowling alley in Tacoma...Tower Lanes that has an indoor mini golf course. It sounded amazing! I decided that we would change things up and go there instead. I ended up moving the day of the party and I decided to just combine Jack's party with Zeke's. They are only 2 weeks apart so it seemed silly to try to have 2 parties. In actuality, all Jack wanted to do for his party was hang out with a few friends.
I had tried to contact the bowling alley party planner and she was a bit difficult to get ahold of. Of course with it being last minute there weren't any actual party times available. I talked with her and she said we wouldn't have any trouble if we came in right at 10am.
On May 28th we headed to Tower Lanes!
Instead of just doing mini golf we decided to also do bowling. They gave us two lanes for all the kids.
We had the older boys and Caitlynn on the left and the younger boys and Ella, Anna & Addison on the right.
It was a crazy mess of kids and I loved it!
Ella loves to carry Aaron around like he's her little brother.
The kids had a good time bowling.
Caleb won on the left side.
Zeke's friend Kaiden won on the right side!
Us adults just hung out visiting while they bowling...it was great!
We got two pizzas for lunch. For bowling alley pizza they were pretty good!
The birthday boy enjoying his pizza!
These older boys are looking so grown up!
After pizza it was time for presents.
Aaron & Bronson got Zeke a Star Wars LEGO set!
Kaiden got Zeke Pokemon cards!
The Storer Family got the boys $!!!
Look at these beautiful young ladies!!!
Love my friend!
Aaron and Bronson got Jack this super fun game. We've loved playing this one it's hilarious!
The Kuch family got the boys Spaceship Battleship game it's super cool!!!
I made two kinds of cupcakes for the birthday boys!
After the pizza, presents and cupcakes it was time to move over to the mini golf section.
Let's do this!
Pictures don't do this mini golf place justice. It's adorable and very well done!
I was too busy running around taking pictures and visiting, but I can't wait to go back and actually get to play.
There is even and indoor waterfall!
It was so fun for Zeke to get to hang out with Kaiden. He lives right down the road from us, but since they don't go to school together anymore they don't get to see each other as often.
The details were so cute. The sand trap area is actually lower in the floor and the carpet is different color.
About midway through the course, Rachael and her kids were able to stop by. They were over visiting from Eastern Washington. It was so fun to get to visit with them and hang out for a bit. They actually ended up coming over the next day and hanging out for most of the afternoon. We love getting to spend anytime we can with them since they moved to the other side of the state!
Mini golf is one of those things that people of all ages can enjoy so it was great since we had kids ranging in age from 5 - 15!
It was also nice having all the adults there....there was enough adults to hang out with each group of kids.
Birthdays are always more fun with friends!
Of course the kids finished golfing all at different times so while the other kids were finishing up Kaiden's mom took Zeke and Kaiden to the arcade area and paid for them to play some games. Such a fun bonus!!!
Can't believe my youngest is 10 years old!
