Here are quite a few random things from November!
We hosted our SNL (Sunday Night Life) Group at our house from Sept - Nov. My friend Joanna from church would help me with food since I was feeding the kids dinner every Sunday Night. She told me she wanted to make hamburger cookies which sounded...interesting. She showed up with these adorable things. The buns were vanilla wafers, the ketchup and cheese were frosting that had been dyed, the lettuce was coconut shreds that had been dyed green and the burger was a Keeler Elf chocolate mint cookie. She also added the toasted sesame seeds to the top of the "bun". They tasted so good!
Justine can be a great door when I'm trying to watch a show!
On Friday, Nov 7th & Saturday Nov 8th, our youth group went to the Next Gen Conference in Renton. There were a lot of people there. The worship was amazing and the speakers were terrific! We took about 23 people with us both days.
On Saturday we had a bunch of time for lunch so we went out to eat in 3 different groups. My group went to three restaurants. First I went through the Chick-Fil-A drive through for Abby....not pictures since she was sitting down eating and then the rest of us wanted Chipotle...that's where we're in line in this picture. We also ended up going to MCD's as well since I wanted to get a Diet Coke!
Next Gen has an IG page...Justine and Stephen ended up being in one of the pictures...they are in the lower left corner in the white and blue sweatshirts!
At the end of the conference I tried to gather all the kids for a picture. I think we had two stragglers...Daniel and his brother Rafael.
Being goofy!!!
Zoom in and look at Andrew and Josiah...Josiah is clinging to Andrew's head like he's gonna die. :)
On November 9th, Logan came over since she had an appointment with her audiologist. She just stayed with us one night. On Monday, November 10th, Ella and I took her to the Angle Lake Station so she could hop on the Link Light Rail to go meet her Dad in Seattle. I had never been to the Angle Lake Station before. We had to park all the way on the top since all the other floors were full from commuters.
I got her there in plenty of time so we actually had to wait for a bit before her train came. She could have gotten on any of the trains since they all go to the same place, but then she might have been too early and her Dad might not have been there to pick her up. So we just waited and goofed around!
Love these girls!
I was talking about a picture that I took with me and Robin where we were sticking out our tongues and I swore our tongues were going to touch even though they really were not close at all. The girls wanted to take a picture like that and they swore their tongues were going to touch too even though they were more than an inch apart! Silly girls!
There she goes! I texted this picture to her Dad and then a little bit later he texted me a picture of her walking to his car with the message..."Package rec'd!"
We were supposed to decorate for Christmas on Saturday, November 15th, but my Christmas village was giving me major trouble so I ended up only getting it put up. So on Monday, November 17th we got the tree up. Charlie loves to sit under the tree....we always call him a Christmas kitty when he does that. It's also his tree....that is until I put presents under the tree and then he's not happy at all!
On Saturday, November 22nd, I did not want to cook so Michael and I made Justine and Ella go on a date with us to the Mandarin Kitchen.
Ella really didn't want to leave the house, but it was good to get out and go do something. She's just a homebody right now!
We haven't eaten there in a long time since we heard the food was not good after the ownership changed. Recently I had heard on the Des Moines FB page that they had worked all the clinks out so we gave it a shot. I really liked everything except the Almond Fried Chicken, but I think that's because I just don't like Almond Fried Chicken anymore. Everything else was great!
Like father like son!
A man and his cat!
On Tuesday, November 25th, I picked up Kim and took her to The Cheesecake Factory for an early birthday dinner. Her birthday isn't until December 5th, but she has a really busy December so we had to fit it in before life gets crazy! She had a coupon for a free piece of cheesecake. It was the flourless Godiva chocolate one and it was AMAZING!
On Wednesday, November 26th we didn't have youth group so Justine suggested we go see the movie Eternity. We got to the mall early so we could have ice cream before the movie so we had some time to kill. The kids tried to fit on the ride on toys.
I was actually surprised they fit into the Fun Bus. It was most definitely cramped!
On top of ice cream we also went to Target and got candy.
And of course we got popcorn and soda....I'm telling you guys we are professional snackers! The movie was such an interesting concept....totally not Biblical at all, but interesting to think about. It was a really cute RomCom for sure!
On Wednesday night Justine spent the night at Ga-Ga & Pa's so we could pick him up from their house the next morning and set out for Thanksgiving with Michael's family in Oregon.
The kids spent most of the time in Oregon downstairs where the gaming systems were. Ella and Justine loved these extra wide recliners since they could sit together.
They were huge and looked quite cozy!
Owen brought his tablet so he was over at the game table playing on that.
The next day was Black Friday! Ga-Ga, Ella and I went out shopping. This was the first time shopping up here in King County since we usually shop in Pierce County down where Ga-Ga & Pa lived, but since they moved there was no sense in going down there. Ella really wanted to buy a new dress for the Women's Christmas Dinner and she wanted Ga-Ga to be there. We ended up finding the one she liked at Kohl's. Every women needs a black dress!
On Sunday, November 30th, I wore my first Christmas sweater to church. Afterwards in the van on the way home I couldn't figure out where all the sparkly green dots were coming from on the ceiling. That's when Michael was like they're coming from you babe! I didn't even realize that my sweater had green sequins on it.
Later that same day, Charlie just needed to be in the middle of the action at the computer desk! Silly cat!
