Duct Tape Bracelets!

Update: The ink did eventually start to wear off so instead of writing on the duck tape I'm going to print out our info and cut it into a tiny strip and then Scotch tape it to the bracelet. Since they are so easy and cheap I'm thinking of making a few extras just in case they do get lost!

I've been going back and forth on I.D. bracelets for the kids. I've gotten lots of good suggestions from friends ranging from temporary tattoos, bead bracelets and writing on their skin with a Sharpie. One afternoon I was just looking around on Pinterest and I found this idea. The thing I loved the most about it...I didn't have to go to the store and buy any supplies. I love getting to use what I have on hand!

Supplies: Duct Tape, Sticky Back Velcro, Measuring Tape, Fine Tip Sharpie.

First I measured the kids wrists and then ripped the tape about an inch longer than that. Then you tri-fold the tape onto itself.

Like so!

Then trim the edges so they are rounded.

Attach Velcro to the ends...make sure you put the soft piece as the one that might possibly come in contact with their skin. Also you want to attach one pieces to one side and the other to the opposite side so they can be connected when you wrap them around their wrist.

Like so!

I made the boys in red and Ella's in purple. I wrote Mom 555-555-5555 and Dad 555-555-5555. Of course I used our real phone numbers. I was worried it would smear, but it didn't.

Modeling his bracelet! It was mustache day at church that day. I think these are going to be great....they were easy and didn't cost a thing so if they lose them it's no biggie. Plus since they are duct tape they are waterproof!
