A Different Vantage Point!

Look who's seeing the world from a different vantage point!!!
Ella totally surprises me that she's only 3 1/2 months old and she's can to hold her head up well enough to sit in the Bumbo. When my Aunt Linda gave us the Bumbo Owen was 3 1/2 months old, but we had to put a pillow behind his head for support. Jack never really liked the Bumbo at all! I'm hoping Ella likes it.

She can stay in it for a few minutes, but after that her head starts getting lower and lower. That's when I know it's time to take her out. Then these little guys come over and have a turn sitting in it.

Can you believe Owen is still skinny enough to fit in it? Oh yeah and if you ask Owen what he's doing in this picture he'd say, "I'm workin' on my puter!"

Funny Stories

Here are a few funny things the boys have said lately...
About a month ago I was looking through the Costco coupon book and saw that they had chocolate chips on sale. I was so excited that I said, "oh this is great I'm going to buy chocolate chips and make cookies from scratch...they're gonna rock". That's when Owen piped in and said, "Rocks in cookies are no good!"

One of Owen favorite words is giant. He loves to find giant rocks or take a giant bite and so on. Anyways the other day he was in the front yard and he had been pulling vines out from the garden bed thinking they were sticks. A little while later he came running up to the door with a vine in his hands yelling, "I got a giant dick!" Sometimes the words don't come out quite right! :)

A few nights ago I was asking Jack to point to his body parts. I was saying things like, "Where's your nose? Where's your lips?" He would point to them and say the name and he was doing really good. Then when I asked him where his wee wee was he looked at me and said, "It's hidin'!" He was wearing pants so he was right it was hidin'!

Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday we decided to go to the early service at our church and it was great. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be getting all 5 of us out of the house by 7:30 in the morning. It was totally worth it too. Church started at 8...breakfast was at 9:30 and then we were down at Ga-Ga & Pa's before 11:30. Normally we go to the second service and we don't get home until almost 1. It's always such a rush to get the boys to eat lunch and then get them to nap.
Picture perfect...they actually got up into this chair and sat together all by themselves!

This is the first time I've worn a skirt in forever. I wore it mainly because I can fit in it. I'm still carrying around an extra 10 -15 pounds of pregnancy weight and my wardrobe is severely limited right now. I'm now swimming in my maternity clothes, but my normal clothes are still a little too tight and uncomfortable. When Owen came into our room in the morning and saw me wearing this he had this funny look on his face and he said, "Mama what's that? Can I touch it?"

This is one of my favorite pictures of Owen and Pa! Owen LOVES his Pa!

It was so nice getting to see our family friends Jim and Norean since they didn't get to spend Christmas with us last year.

Uncle Ryan had a new special friend joining us this year. This is his girlfriend Stephanie. She's been such a blessed addition to his life. I've only spent time with her twice in person, but I swear we could probably talk for hours!

Ga-Ga gettin' sometime with Ella girl!

The Easter dress! Ga-Ga bought this for Ella back in January at JCPenny's. Ella also wore the petticoat that Aunt Jan made for the Tara dress, but I took it off and never got a picture of her wearing it. :(

Pa got this rocking horse...his name is Ed...back when Owen was a little baby. We had to take a picture of Pa holding Ella riding it because it reminded us of
this picture of Owen and Pa at Owen's first Easter in 2007.

I think he knew that candy was coming...I'd say he's just a little bit excited!

Norean was excited also, but not for candy...she just wanted to hold our sugar bear or as I like to call her my snugger bear. Don't ask me where I come up with these nicknames...it just pops in my head and it fits.

Let's wrestle with Daddy!

The boys had fun getting into the Easter baskets that Ga-Ga got them. They both got two Veggie Tales DVD's (Ga-Ga actually forgot to put those in the baskets), a Bob the tomato filled with jelly beans, whopper eggs, mini M & M's and bubble blowers!

Ella hanging out with her new lamb and her paci. Out of all our kids she has been the most in love with a pacifier. Owen liked his mildly until he was 4 months old. Jack on the other hand looked at you like you were trying to give him poison anytime we tried to put on in his mouth. Ella really likes them, but when she's done she just spits it right out and falls asleep without it.

Funny Stories

A few weeks ago my mom and I took the boys shopping. We pulled into the Target parking lot and started searching for a handicap spot. My mom has had both her knees replaced so she has one of those handicap placards you hang on your rear view mirror. Right when we were going to turn down a row where we saw a free spot a Dodge Caliber pulled down the row first and got the spot. He didn't cut us off or anything so I wasn't mad. My mom can be a little vocal about things like that so she said something like, "Oh you pig!" We got the boys out of the car and went shopping for quite a while. On the way out Mom and I were just chatting away when we were interrupted by Owen saying, "Hi pig!" as we passed the very same Dodge Caliber in the parking lot on the way to the car. Mom and I just busted up laughing because first we couldn't believe that Owen remembered the car and second he didn't say it in a mean way at all...I think he really thought that the name of that car was pig!

A few days ago I visited my friend Jen and I was telling her all about my recent meltdown. Owen was sitting next to me in a chair drinking and I said something like, "Sometimes the boys can drive me so crazy!" That's when Owen looked up at us and said, "I drive Mommy nuts!" It made both of us laugh. Later on that day I told Michael about that story and he said he's going to teach Owen to say, "I can't drive you somewhere you've never left" if he hears me say that again. Thanks hon!!!

We've started disciplining Jack for misbehaving by putting him in time-out. We've been at this for a few weeks and he's doing great. He never gets out of time-out on his own, he waits until his time is up. We follow the rules that Super Nanny uses. Most of the time Jack gets himself put in time-out for either hitting me or Owen. He's still trying to figure out how to express his emotions in the correct way. Anyways...once his time-out is done I talk to him about why he was put there in the first place and then he has to go tell whoever he hit that he's sorry. Almost every time I get to this part Owen comes out of nowhere and says, "Sorry Jack I no hit!" He's so cute wanting to take the fall for his brother. We've tried explaining that he didn't do anything wrong, but I think it's a little confusing for him. Jack does eventually say he's sorry though.

It seemed like we were sick pretty much for the first month and a half of 2010. During that time I was clearing my throat a lot. Owen was wondering what I was doing so I told him I just had a frog in my throat. Now whenever he coughs for clears his throat he looks at me and says, "I just have a frog!"

Owen Speak

The other day it occurred to me I haven't updated on Owen's vocabulary in a long time. He says everything and most of it is perfectly clear, but here are a few of the cute, funny and smart things he's said or done recently.

- The other night we were in the van and it was raining and Owen just pipped up and said, "Mommy cars are taking a bath!" Tonight while we were in the car he said, "Mommy cars are all dry!" As you can guess...it wasn't raining out.

- If you ask Owen where the water goes once it goes down the drain he says, "The water treatment plant!"

- Owen knows what red, yellow and green means at a traffic light. He also knows they are called traffic lights and that there aren't any traffic lights on the freeway.

- If you ask Owen, "What are we doing tomorrow?" he almost always says, "Choo choo train Saturday!" because of our trip on the link light rail a few weeks back.

- Tonight the boys and I were playing with their Winnie the Pooh piano and microphone and I was singing Row Row Row Your Boat. I asked Owen to sing and he sang it like this, "Row row row your boat, merrily merrily merrily life is but dream, go to the grocery store, oh no!" We had gone to Fred Meyer earlier in the day so I guess the trip to the store really stuck out in his mind.

- On Tuesday when Kim came over I asked Owen to go into the bathroom and take his pants and undies down and go potty. He's really big into shutting the door now and having "privacy". This time I decided to go in and make sure he actually got his undies down as he's forgotten and peed through them in his potty chair before. When I got into the bathroom he was in the process of pulling his undies down and he so proudly proclaimed, "Oh...there's my penis!"

- Owen is starting to understand opposites a lot especially when it comes to people....Ga-Ga is a girl, Pa is a guy, Daddy has giant ears, Owen has little ears and so on and so forth.

- Owen is also getting really good at his letters and numbers. He acts like he doesn't know them sometimes, but then I'll catch him talking to himself and he's saying the ABC's and counting. Tonight he was in the garage and I heard him count all the way to 13. He also knows how to spell out his name, but he prefers to leave off the 'O' and just shouts 'W - E - N" even though he knows it starts with an 'O'.

Doctor's Appointment

Before the news about Ella's irregular heartbeat we were just having a good time in the doctors office with the boys. This is actually the first time the boys have been in the room with me during one of my appointments. Usually I pick my Mom up from her work and she entertains the boys in the lobby or out in the hallway. Since Michael is home right now he came and everyone came into the room with me.
Such a Mama's boy!

Owen and Jack both had some much fun laying on the exam table. Jack didn't necessarily want to share it though. The nurse was so sweet and brought the boys both Elmo stickers. Owen ended up leaving his Elmo sticker on one of the magazine in the room. Later that night Jack was asking about "Mamo!" and Owen said, "No, no Jack....Elmo at docker's on mazine...sorry bud!" So cute!!!!

Owen loves to pretend that he's sleeping. Sometimes when we go in to get him after he's woken up from his nap he'll pretend he's sleeping just like this...snoring and all!

By the time the doctor came in to do my exam the paper covering on the bed had been totally ripped up and was all over the floor. At least they didn't scream their heads off!

No Worries (The Post Where I Use Too Many Parentheses)

Just the other morning I was taking a cup of chocolate milk to the dining room table for Owen and I was being lazy (that's been a trend recently). So instead of walking around the table I decided to just gently push it across the table. Bad idea! There was something sticky on the table so the cup ended up getting stuck and then spilled over. Isn't that just how it works....us Mom's tell our kids to be careful and then we end up being the one making the mess!
First I let Owen know that I would get him a new cup of chocolate milk so he wouldn't get sad and then I started singing this song that's on Owen's Elmo Potty Time DVD. It's goes...accidents happen and that's okay! Earlier this week the boys and I were at my mom and dad's house and I let them watch The Lion King for the first time (of course I fast forwarded through the scarier parts). But Owen loved the part with Pumba and Timon. While I was cleaning up the milk off the floor (with my super shammy I bought at the Puyallup Fair...AWESOME!) Owen just looked at me and said, "Hacoo Tata!"
Let me translate...Hakuna Matata...it means no worries for the rest of your days...it's our problem free...philosophy...Hakuna Matata! I have been singing that song a lot to the boys this week, (it's been stuck in my head) but I was so surprised that Owen used it in the right context.

The Value Of Two Cents

On Tuesday night we went and dropped off the trailer at Michael's mom and dad's house. Somehow Owen got 2 pennies I'm not sure how. As we were driving to pick up a movie at The Red Box Owen saw my bag of pretzels in the car and said,
"I want pretzels!"
To which I replied, "What do you say?"
To which he so cleverly said, "I got money!"

Owen Speak

Owen is pretty much saying everything now so I'm mainly just going to post about the cute and funny things he says from here on out. Enjoy! He makes us laugh!

I bought some jeans at Value Village that had gems on the back pockets. The first day I wore them he walked up to me in the kitchen, pointed at my buns where the gems were and said, "Pretty!".

My phone was having problems a few weeks back, the microphone was going out so no one could here me. While I was on the phone with Michael I kept having to yell, "Can you hear me?"? Later that night Owen was walking around the house talking on his play phone yelling, "An you hear me? - An you HEAR ME? - AN YOU HEAR ME?" It was so funny because he was doing the tone of voice perfect and getting louder and louder each time just like I was.

Owen has learned how to manipulate our words to get the outcome he wants. He'll say something like, "Wagon ride?" and we'll say, "You wanna go in your wagon?" and he'll say, "Okay!" like it was our idea the whole time. He's used this many times!

Tonight during our wagon ride (he didn't trick me into this one) he was reaching out and touching the tires and they were tickling his fingers and he kept laughing and saying, "Too funny!"

A Temporary Addition

From Friday night to Sunday morning Michael and I watched our niece Samantha while her parents went on a mini vacation. It was fun and quite exhausting having 3 kids in the house under 3. Plus Michael ended up having to work all day so it was just me for most of the day. Now I'm the one that needs a mini vacation.

For the most part Samantha did great. She loves to love on Jack, but she's a little rough sometimes so she heard the word "no" a few times. Owen was actually the one that had the hardest time. He's a very routine kid and this just was way out of the norm for him. He's also not into sharing his toys right now so that made it rough. Owen did lovingly start referring to Samantha as "Mantha". He would point to her chair and say, "Mantha chair" or her sippy and say, "Mantha sippy".

Owen Speak

Owen knows the difference between red, blue and yellow. Sometimes he knows orange too.

He finally started saying "one"! It's a breakthrough. He used to refuse to say one he always started with two instead.

Owen is started to act and his favorite thing to pretend to do is fall down. He falls down and then gets up and says, "I fall".

Owen knows how to make the sound that a motorcycle does. He lifts is hands up like he's holding the handle bars and goes "vroom vroom."

Owen has a book that's call Yummy & Yellow. It's a book about Winnie the Pooh and how he's looking for something that's yummy and yellow. It's all about teaching the different colors. Well a few weeks ago Owen asked for this book by saying, "Yummy Pooh!"

Owen loves to point to the different chairs at the dining room table and in the car and say, "Daddy Chair, Pa Chair, GG Chair, Ga-Ga Chair, Jack Jack Chair and Mama Chair". He's correct when he points to the chairs too. He remembers where everyone sits. In the car he points to the passenger seat and says "Daddy Chair"....ha you know who does most of the driving around here. :)

We've been teaching Owen that he has to clean up his mess even if it was an accident. We don't want him to think that he can just make a mess and not be responsible for cleaning it up. Of course we help him and don't expect it to be perfect...he is only 2 years old, but still we like to teach him that everyone has a job to do. So from learning this he's learned two new words...job and mess. He's says them perfectly. It's funny when Jack drops something on the floor Owen will point and say "mess".

My hands are always cold in the morning so when I change Owen's diaper he holds his arms tight at his sides because he knows I have to touch him and it's "coeg" = cold.

Since Owen has been saying his name a lot lately he's been talking about himself in the third person. He'll say things like, "Owen's juice" or "Owen's car". It's fun to hear him take ownership of things he knows are his.

The other day the boys and I ran out to Payless Shoes because they were having a good sale. Since the store was a stand alone store and wasn't in a mall I decided to just have Owen walk and I carried Jack. While I was looking for shoes for Michael, Owen was running up to all the mirrors and looking right at himself and yelling, "Owen!" He seriously was surprised each time he saw himself in a different mirror.

Owen repeats just about everything we say now. Here are some other words he says remarkable well...

Manny - This is for Handy Manny on Playhouse Disney

Truck - He really says it well and it doesn't come out sounding bad.

Fork - He did try to say fork this morning and it did not come out sound right the first time, but I just over enunciated it and he got it the next time.

Chicken - He will only eat chicken and sausage and tuna if it's in a casserole. He will not eat beef yet.

Owen Speak

Owen is now practically having conversations with us. I love it!

Nom = Knob

Owhoa = Oval - I got a shapes toy from MOPS a couple weeks ago and this is Owen's favorite shape right now.

Hum Me = Hug Me - We play this game where we say hug me and he comes running from across the room and hugs us. He loves it when we fall backwards.

Boon = Spoon

Ssss Nap = Snap

Obey - I love that he knows this word!

Tim - This is the name of the tiny turtle in the bath song.

Amy - This is the name of a little girl in one of the books we read.

Mimi = Mickey

Hot og = Hot Dog - He sings this because of the song at the end of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

If I say, "You need to listen to mommy", Owen will say, "now". He doesn't say it snotty or anything, but it's hard not to laugh.

Just the other morning Owen had a one way conversation with Jack in his highchair. I had given Jack some Gerber Puffs to eat while I was getting breakfast ready. Here's what Owen had to say to Jack....

Eat puff - Eat puff - Here go (Owen shoves a puff in Jack's mouth) - Say geek you (thank you) - Eat puff - Eat puff - Ah oh puff (One of the puffs fell on the floor)

What's their name?

Owen's vocabulary is growing everyday now. He's constantly repeating words we say. In this video he's saying the names of his Sesame Street characters. He can say...Elmo, Ernie and Cookie. The only one he can't say is Big Bird. Of course his favorite is Elmo so when I ask him what their name is he always answers Elmo at first, but then he will tell me the right name.

Owen Speak in action

Since Owen knows almost all of the animal sounds I can think of we've moved onto other things that make noise like trains and motorcycles. In this video I'm saying chug a chug a chug....and then Owen goes toot toot and does the motions for pulling the horn. He also says his name towards the end. I love that sweet voice of his!

Owen Speak

Here are the latest things that Owen's saying...

Come = Comb aka Honey Comb. Owen asks for this all the time, but he doesn't actually like Honey Comb he really wants Captain Crunch.

Cake = Pancake. I make blueberry pancakes quite frequently. YUMMY!

Geek You = Thank you. Owen will also sign this and he's started saying this without even being asked. I love that he uses his manners. He also signs sorry after he's been in timeout, but he doesn't say the word sorry yet.

Coooookie = Cookie Monster

Urnee = Ernie from Sesame Street

Keeks = Cheeks. He also pinches them when he says this.

Fys = Thighs. He squeezes his thighs when he says this.

Bum = Bum. He pats his bum when he says this.

Ahpit = Armpit. He loves to hid toys in his armpits and ask where they went even if the toy is too big. He's such a character!

Nuna = Tuna. He learned this the last time I made Tuna Casserole.

No bite = No bite. He says this to Jack after I've told Jack not to bite me or he'll say it to himself if he's biting his clothes. He knows he's not suppose to do that so he's correcting himself.

Beetball = Meatball. I made meatballs for the scrapbook day that I went to at my church and we had lots of leftovers. Owen ate them the first time, but after that he wouldn't. They are those yummy meatballs from Costco.

Owen said his first sentence a few days ago. We were in the kitchen and he said...Where my...tea go? He then went running into the living room to find his sippy with tea in it.

Owen can now do the actions for a monkey, elephant, crocodile and shark. For the crocodile he claps his hands and says "Chomp chomp" for the shark he puts his hands together on top of his head and says "do do do do" like the music from Jaws. The other day he was bringing his Noah's Ark toy over to me and I asked him, "Is that Noah's Ark"? He set it down and put his hands over his head and said, "do do do do". He thought I said shark, not ark! Too cute!

The other day when I was making dinner I used a little to much pepper and I turned my head to sneeze. Unfortunately Owen was right there so he got sneezed on. He just lifted his hands in the air and said, "All wet"!

And last but not least Owen is now saying his name if you ask him! He puts the two letters 'O' and 'N' together and says O-N. He over pronounces them and it's so cute. I'm going to try to get a video of him saying it and then I'll post it. He's getting so big I can't believe it.

Owen Speak

This is where Owen is when daddy is going to work and coming home. He loves to say, "Daddy home" or "Bye bye home" when Daddy leaves. He's really quite good about Daddy leaving. He never gets too angry about it.

Owen is really starting to put words together to form sentences now. I love it!
I had dat = I have that - This is his new thing to say. He says it whenever he wants something even if it's something that Jack has and he wants it.
Nolk = Milk - Owen says this when he is drink milk and when Jack is drinking mommy's milk.
New = New - He started saying this because he found an old sippy and I told him we needed to get a new one.
Nuff = Enough - I said this yesterday when he was turning the stair light on and off and on and off and I said enough. I'm not sure he knows what it means because today he saw that light switch and called it 'nuff' I think he thinks that's what it's name is now.
Nice = Nice - He started saying this when he was sick because I bought some vapor rub to put on his neck and I asked him if it felt nice. Now when he wants it rubbed on him he asks for the nice stuff.
Owen now knows where is armpits, neck, shoulders, wee wee and wrists are.
He knows the sound a goat makes now and when you ask him what a crocodile does he claps his hands and says chomp chomp.
He can point to the letters 'O', 'A' and 'T'. He can say every letter except 'L' and 'W'.
The English language can be to confusing! Some of the things we say in everyday conversation sound so different to Owen. Here are some examples of things I've said and how Owen interprets them.
One morning I told Owen he was so good at sleeping in and then I said, "Well Jack is early to rise". Owen looked at me with bright eyes and said, "Rice, Rice". Owen LOVES to eat rice!
When I put my nice new boots on for Jack's Baby Dedication I looked at Michael and said, "Man my feet are gonna be sore from wearing these puppies all day long"! Owen started ruffing because I said puppy.

GG's Visit

Last week my Grandma (GG to Owen and Jack) came up for a visit. She was in town because my Grandpa's (Peepaw to Owen and Jack...he died last October) first wife had just past away and my Grandma really wanted to attend the funeral. She flew into town and my mom and dad drove her down to Eugene to for the service. Everyone was so happy and surprised that they came.

On Wednesday night we had dinner and after dinner Uncle Ryan and Aunt Kim stopped by so they could visit with Grandma too. GG spent Wednesday night at our house and then we took her to the airport on Thursday. On Friday Owen and I were outside playing in the sunshine and he heard an airplane fly over the house and he looked up and waved and said, "Bye Bye GG"! He is so smart!!

Owen Speak

Owen is just talking like crazy now. He amazes me. I've been writing them down so I won't forget and it seems like the list goes on and on. I know this stuff probably isn't that interesting to most of you, but I want to make sure I remember this stuff when he gets older.

Netty = Thank you - He sometimes signs this.

Ree-Ree = Ring or Pretty - I'm not really sure on this one yet.

Hacut = Haircut - We just buzzed Owen's head last night and it looks super cute.

Han = Hand

Tay = Tape - Owen loves to play with masking tape and since Michael is a painter we have plenty of it.

Bubba = Brother - This is what I called my brother so sometimes I say it for either Owen or Jack and he just started saying it today.

Off! He just started saying this today. Finally! Hopefully he will phase out 'Not on' now!

Here go = Here you go

Kim = My friend Kim - She came over last week or the week before I can't remember anyways he just stood at the window and said her name. Also I have all my picture Christmas cards hanging up in the dining room so when he sees hers he says her name over and over.

Icky = Yucky - He learned this one during potty training this last weekend. Oh yeah that didn't go so well so he's still using "Boppies" aka diapers.

Pen - Self explanatory

Nay = Name - Owen thinks that all words have to be names because each of us have our names over our beds. The words can be on paper, the TV, a sign outside, but they are all names.

Gapa = Ga & Ga & Pa together or it means Grandpa...not quite sure.

I pay I pay = I pray I pray - That is actually how Owen prays. He says it over and over about 3 or 4 times and then says Amen at the end. I couldn't figure out why he prayed like that until I really listened to myself praying and I say...Dear God, I pray that we have a good day and I pray that Michael comes home soon and I pray that the boys take a long nap......wonder who he learned how to pray like that from???

We've been working on the ABC's and counting from 1 - 10 with him more and more. He can say almost all of the ABC's now except he refuses to say 'A' he always starts with 'B'. The same thing goes for his numbers he always starts with '2'.

Today I kissed Owen and it shocked both of us on the lips. I kissed him again and it happened again. After that he didn't want to kiss me, but later on I convinced him too and there was no shock and he said all excited, "No Owww"!

Owen Speak

Owen's vocabulary is just amazing me. If I wasn't keep track of all his words I wouldn't actually think he knew this many, but he goes through phases of saying words and then he won't say them for a while so I'm happy I'm keeping a record.

"Hupbo" = hippo - We bought him the red and orange hippo from IKEA and he sleeps with it. He also sleeps with the Alligator as well and he thinks that's a hippo too.

"Ah go" = Where'd it go - He says this when he "hides" his toys behind a pillow and wants you to find it.

Happy & Not Happy - Owen doesn't really know the opposites of words like he knows 'on' but not 'off' he says "not on"' instead. So I taught him the word happy and a few days after that we were in the car and Jack was crying and in a serious voice Owen said "Not happy". It was so adorable! Oh and when we were singing Happy Birthday to Owen getting him ready for his birthday he started singing, "Happy, Happy, Happy".

Home - We were at Ga-Ga and Pa's and I told Owen we were going home and he immediately said "home". A few days after that Michael came home and and I asked Owen who was here and he said, "Dada home".

Amen = We pray at dinner every night and I try to remember to pray at breakfast and lunch too. Owen loves to hold hands and pray in fact he asks to "Pay" sometimes. One time when Michael was praying he was jibber jabbering and at the end he said "Amen" totally clear.

Pa - Now whenever we talk about Ga-Ga Owen also includes Pa in the conversation too.

"Papee" = Peepaw - Today Owen wanted me to pick him up so he could see the family pictures on the wall better. I was asking him where Dada was and he would point and say "Dada" and I asked about Ga-Ga, Pa and Mama too. Then I asked him where Peepaw was and he pointed right to Peepaw and said, "Papee". I loved it! Peepaw has been gone for almost 4 months now, but Owen still remembers him. He was also able to point out GG too so that was nice. GG is worried that Owen will forget her since she's moved to Denver now. I can't wait until she comes up for a visit in May.

"A, E" = ABC's - Today I was singing and signing the ABC's to the boys and Owen started singing "A, A, E, E" and moving his little fingers around trying to make the letters.

Owen Speak

Owen's vocabulary just keeps on expanding...

He says boppy when he wants his diaper changed and then he lays down on the floor. We are totally going to start potty training after his birthday party on the 17th. In fact tomorrow we're going to IKEA to buy the potty chair.

His favorite phrase right now is 'All gone'. He says it for everything that's all gone. A couple Sundays ago at church after every song he clapped and said 'All gone'.

He is still saying 'on' for both 'on & off'

His favorite late night treat is cocoa and he loves to say it over and over. His lips make this cute 'O' shape when he says it too.

Since Owen got an Elmo Radio Control Roadway for Christmas is new friend is of course Elmo. When he wakes up in the morning it's Elmo this and Elmo that. I wasn't sure he would like any of those characters since we don't really watch TV, but he most definitely likes Elmo.

When we count now instead of saying 'Free' he says "two, two...Two". We are trying to get him to say that he's two for his upcoming birthday.

During Christmas I was trying to get Owen to say Merry Christmas so I said, "Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas. Owen would never say the Merry Christmas part, but he would say "Ho Ho Ho".

And finally when he gets to eat something he really likes he says "Num, Num...Nummy"!
