Scraggle Tooth!

Zeke's fourth tooth was actually one of his side teeth. A few days after this picture his other top front tooth came in. In probably less than a month he'll have another one if not two more teeth. Thankfully he's a pretty easy teether!

7 Months Old!!!

My Zeke Man is 7 months old today! Seriously...what is going on!!! How can that possibly be???

So what is Zeke Russell up to...

- He is eating like a pro. He eats 3 meals a day and will eat almost a whole jar of baby food at each meal. He knows what he likes and doesn't like though. He could eat peas at every. single. meal! He can not stand bananas. If he doesn't want to eat what I've made for him he will just lower his head, cry and not open his mouth until I get him what he wants. We are SO in trouble!!!

- He is nursing about 5 - 6 times a day. He gets distracted really easily so it can still take up to 20 minutes to feed him. Sometimes he thinks that sucking his thumb is more important that nursing and that gets a little annoying!

 - He has discovered his feet! I love this stage! He will just grab them and try to rip his socks off or bite them. It's so cute!

- He is FINALLY rolling over from his back to his belly. He still won't do it when he's in his crib though so one of us has to go in there and flip him over to his belly.

- He is teething like a mad man! All that acidic drool has made his poor face all red. I've tried putting cream on it to see if it will get better, but nothing really does. It's hard when he's drooling all day and then when he sleeps he drools and his face lays in it.

- He is the only one of our kids to still have a concave chest like Michael. Ella had it when she was first born, but it slowly faded. The Dr thinks Zeke's is here to stay.

- He is starting to babble a lot. He makes squeaky noises and fake laughs and then sometimes I swear he's telling off his toys. The other night he was babbling and he was saying "Da da da da da"...we've also heard him say what sounds like "Ella" before. I love hearing his little voice.

- He is really starting to get into toys. By far his favorite toy right now is one of those infant Tylenol containers with the dropper. He loves to chew on the part you squeeze for the dropper.

- He is a good sleeper. He goes to bed around 8 and then is usually up around 6:45. Before daylight savings time ended he was sleep from 8 until 7:30 though. He still takes two naps a day. His morning nap is from 9 - 11 or 11:30 and his afternoon nap varies, but on a good day he'll sleep from 1:30 - 4.

I can't believe he's been in our arms for 7 months now. It's crazy how time flies! I love this little boy to bits and I can't wait to see him grow and develop even more!

Another First...Actually Two!

Zoom in on this picture and what do you see???

Not one, but TWO teeth! This cute little over achiever broke his first and second tooth through on November 15th.

A few days before I had started feeding him baby food since I though his crankiness was due to hunger. He didn't care much for baby oatmeal so after two days of that I gave him butternut squash. Oh my word this kid was born to eat! He is already eating baby food 3 times a day and LOVES it. In fact during his second feeding of squash in between bites he would hang his head and cry his little head off. When I finally got the next bite ready he would see the spoon and all would be right with the world again. According to my parents he is EXACTLY like me.

Welcome to the wonderful world of food Zeke Man!

Family Visit

Last week Uncle Ry and Aunt Stephie came over to see the kids and have dinner with us. Uncle Ry had fun holding and smooching on Zeke. Unfortunately Zeke did not enjoy the scruff on Uncle Ry's face and he sure let him hear all about it. :)

So off to Aunt Stephie's arms he went....she doesn't have scruff on her face!

Oh speaking of face...bring that closer so I can gnaw on you!!!

Okay I guess your finger will work!

Oh wait I can chew on this! If I could just get it...

Closer!!!

This cute boy is getting so big and he's chewing on EVERYTHING!!!

Who Needs Frog Legs When You Can Have Frog Face!

Over the weekend Ga-Ga introduced Zeke to Froggy. Zeke has entered a serious chewing phase!

Mmm....yummy frog face!

I make these thighs look good!!!

What...haven't you seen a baby chew on a frogs head before?

Oh...let me chew your face some more!

Seriously...give a kid a break!!!

7th Tooth - Closer Look!

Can you see the third tooth on the bottom right? It's funny that the one on the other side hasn't come in yet to make it even. The boys always got their teeth two at a time. Sometimes Jack would get four teeth at a time. Thankfully as you can see...she's not crabby!

7th Tooth!

Ella's 7th tooth (lower tooth on her left) came in today. She hasn't even been fussy...at all! She isn't even extra drooly...and yes drooly is a word! I know and I just talked about home schooling my kids. This coming from someone that thought Neapolitan ice cream was really pronounced Napoleon until I was 18 years old. Don't ask! Anyways...her gums weren't even swollen. I just happened to catch a glimpse of something on her gum and decided to feel it and sure enough...another tooth!

3rd & 4th Tooth

On Friday October 1st Ella got her 3rd tooth the big one on top in front. A few days later she got her 4th tooth, the other big one on top. It's changed her look so much. I've also started giving her Cheerios to see if she can use those teeth of hers. She hasn't gotten the pincher grasp down great, but she can get a few in her mouth every now and then.

Lips!

Ever since Ella has gotten her teeth (she has two now) she's been doing this funny thing with her lips where she pushes them out. Puckering or pouting...call it what you want, but I think it's hilarious!

Not sure what this look is, but it sure is funny!

She totally knows she's adorable!

I have two teeth now...they're a little hard to see though.

Mmwhaa!

Peace Out Dude!!!

I think she's channelling Elvis here!

Gaze intently off into the distance...I can do that!

So Ga-Ga and I agree that Ella has red highlights in her hair. Michael says she doesn't at all. What do you think??

Eat your heart out...Angelina Jolie!

I love this goofball!

This cute girl has been extra cranky and clingy the last couple days and now we know why! Click on the picture to see her cute little tooth poking through! Another first!

Too Soon!

This cute girl is already showing signs of teething. She loves to chew on her hands or her toys Her spit is extra stretchy at times and even though most of the time is a perfect angel...she can get down right cranky! She was so upset the other day Michael ran out to Bartell's to buy her some homeopathic teething tablets and they seemed to help some.

Fifth Tooth & Update on Sleep

Jack got his 5th tooth last Thursday. It's to the left of his big front tooth. You can barely see it in this picture. He wasn't being a very photogenic boy for Mommy.

Oh yeah and I totally should have kept my mouth shut because now Jack is napping horribly. Today he took 2 half an hour naps and cried a bunch. It just drives mommy to the brink I tell ya. Owen was and is still such a good sleeper that we were spoiled so Jack is just totally frustrating to us sometimes. Oh well! I remember my friend telling me you can't have a good sleeper and a good eater, it's either one or the other. Owen is a great sleeper and not a good eater and Jack is a great eater and not a good sleeper.

Mommy Time!

Yesterday we went to clean Ga-Ga & Pa's house and while Owen's was napping I put Jack in the exersaucer so I could finish cleaning the kitchen. Jack wasn't too keen on me being so far away from him so I sat down next to him and he was so happy to have mommy all to himself!

Click on the last picture to see his lonely top tooth. The second one hasn't broke though yet so he looks like a cute hick.

Already???

Jack is definitely starting to teeth. ARGH!!! It's right around the same time Owen started so I shouldn't be surprised. He is constantly chewing on his hands and his spit has all of a sudden become VERY stringy. He's also been sort of a crab the last couple of days.

Oh wow this is what your whole face looks like! Cute! :)

Rough Day

Yesterday was such a rough day for Mommy and Owen. We think Owen is trying to cut some more teeth and he's just at that age where he is testing me. I love this kid to pieces, but yesterday I sure needed a break from him. Thankfully Michael got home from work early and took over. He is such a wonderful man! After dinner when my patience was totally gone I came upstairs and had some alone time on the computer. About a half an hour before it was time for Owen to go to bed I went back downstairs and it was like a clean slate. Owen was so excited to see me and I was so excited to see him. I love that! It was really nice to end the day on a good note. Another plus about last night was Jack only woke up once to eat in the middle of the night. YAHOO!!!

Two Molars

Last night we were playing around with Owen and he opened his mouth really big and we saw two molars sticking out from the top of his mouth! YAHOO!! This is going to help him out so much when it comes to eating. Poor little guy has been having to chew things with his front teeth or just gum them to death. We also noticed that one of his bottom molars is right under the surface so it won't be long and he'll have 11 teeth!!! The funny thing is these molars are coming in before his Incisors so he'll have to go awhile with gaps in his teeth again.

8 Teeth

This morning when I was playing with Owen on the floor I noticed something in his mouth...it was tooth #8. He's had 7 teeth for quite sometime and I was wondering when he was going to even things out again. Last night he woke up around 2 and started crying. He doesn't normally cry in the middle of the night anymore. I waited to see if he would cry himself to sleep, but it just wasn't happening. When I did go into check on him he basically crawled out of his crib into my arms. I was sure he had a bad dream. I did give him some Tylenol just in case he was coming down with the same cold that Michael and I have had. After a little more crying he did go back to sleep. I don't think it was a bad dream anymore I'm sure the tooth was the culprit for the crying episode. I don't blame him for crying either the tooth is already sticking quite a ways out of his mouth so it must have just shot out. I can imagine that was pretty painful.
