Show Us Where You Live Friday

So this week Kelly has us showing off our entryways/foyer. We don't really have a big enough area to call it a foyer, but I do happen to have pictures so here goes.

First things first...the front door. When we moved after going to Lowe's and Home Depot for a million different things we came across this really nice look door handle. It didn't really work with the old door, but Michael was sure he could fix it will filler or puddy or whatever. Okay needless to say it was a disaster and lead to racing to Lowe's before they closed or Michael would be sleeping on the floor of our living room because there was no lock on the door.

Here's the end result...new door and nice new knob.

Close up...it's nice, but it wasn't worth all the trouble.

Right when you come in the door you see our stairs. We ripped out the old carpet and had new Berber carpet put it. Michael also painted all the molding white.

This is an old picture, but I was lazy and didn't want to take a new one. The only thing that's different is there is a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs and the decorations on the bench have now been replaced with a shoebox full of Owen's undies in case he has an accident I don't have to run upstairs to get a new pair...did I mention I was lazy?

Here is our entryway closet. I love how big it is. Our old condo had such a small closet so this was a nice surprise. It holds all our coats, the vacuums, extra purses and a bunch of other random things that I have no clue where else to put them.

Michael put all new 6 panel doors throughout our house. It was a lot of work, but it really makes the house look nice and new.
Thanks for stopping by!

Show Us Where You Live Friday

This Friday we are showing off our master bedrooms. Our master bedroom is decorated with a bunch of our wedding memorabilla.

We got this king size headboard and footboard from JCP's and it only cost $150. I love having a king size bed. I'm not much of a snuggler so I like having my own space to stretch out and catch my Z's. The open door leads to our master bathroom...if you'd like to check that out click here.

This is the picture above our bed. The flowers are from our wedding. I have the name plaque made at the Puyallup Fair for $9 before were were married. It says, "Michael & Lyndsay Forever & Always - May 8th 1999.

Michael was working in a retirement community and his older gentlemen was going to sell this TV armoire to us for $50, but once he found out we were young and newly married he just gave it to Michael and said that he had been there once. It was really sweet. We had to do a bit of work to it because it actually had the original TV built into it.

These are the pictures to the left of the armoire. I love having belly pictures taken when I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant with Owen on the left and Jack on the right. The Willow Tree Angel was given to me by my friend Christa.

This shelf is filled with a bunch of our wedding stuff. Left to right, top...the pen everyone used to write in our guest book, battery operated candle centerpiece at our reception, porcelin dolls (gift from my maid of honor), picture book. Left to right, bottom...party favor that was at the table at our rehearsal dinner, wedding picture, unity candle, cake topper, garter and the glasses we used for our toast.

Last year I finally convinced Michael to install ceiling fan...I love it. The chair in the corner is the most comfortable chair ever. It was a gift from my mom and dad when Jack was born. I use it as my nursing/pumping chair.

This is our engagement picture with all the notes that people wrote to us at our reception.

Here is the wedding picture collage I made from a bunch of our pictures.

The picture on the top was taken at Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland and the picture on the bottome is made from 4 of the cards we received at our wedding.

Show Us Where You Live Friday

This week we are showing off our Playroom/Bonus Room /Laundry Room. I've already showed off our playroom here. We don't have a bonus room...so I'm showing off my laundry room. It's not really room though it's a closet off our dining room.

When we moved Michael didn't want to take our old washer and dryer with us because they were on the second floor. So I used it as an excuse to go out and get front loaders. I love them!
I know it's Show Us Where You Live Friday, but Kelly got a jump on it so I'm posting early too.

Show Us Where You Live Friday

This week Kelly asked us to show off our bathrooms.

Since we've remodeled our entire house I always like to show before pictures.

This is our half bath that's on the first floor. It has ugly old linoleum, wallpaper and and an old vanity.

Here are the after pictures. I've always wanted a pedestal sink.

We redid everything! The only things we kept were the toilet and the brown cabinet doors. The lower portion of the cabinet is actually a laundry chute that originates in the master bedroom. I don't use it as a laundry chute though...I store our Costco sized TP and paper towels in there instead.

This is what our master bathroom looked like before we remodeled it. It was a hallway from our bedroom. At the end was a sink. On the right is our huge walk in closet.

This is what was the on left. This little tiny room with a toilet, sink and one person shower.

Here's a picture of Michael ripped out the wall where the shower is.

Bye bye wall!

After....gorgeous! The tub is where the shower used to be. There was wasted space behind the wall so we were able to get a two person tub.

We kept the sink that was in the tiny bathroom where it was and toilet is in the same place too. The sink that was at the end of the hallway we turned into a 4ft shower with doors.

Here's a partial shot of our closet. I went online and had Lowe's design our closet for us for free. Then I just went down and bought all the parts and put them together myself. I love how organized it is.
We also have another full bath upstairs, but I only have before pictures of it.

Show Us Where You Live Friday

This week we get to show off our home office. Head over to Kelly's Korner if you want to check out all the other home offices.

This is the view of our office from the hallway. This room is connected to our master bedroom so it used to be the nursery before the boys moved into their shared bedroom. You can see that in last week's Show Us Where You Live Friday. This corner desk was given to us by our friends when they moved and our office chair was given to us by my Dad.

This is the view of the office when you walk into it from our master bedroom. I got that table at Costco so I would have a place to make cards or scrapbook.

Here is my armoire that my parents bought for me for one of my birthday's growing up. It holds a bunch of different things like ribbon, cards, picture frames, tools and there is a TV in there so I can have something to watch while I'm working on my scrapbooks.

This is a close up of the picture frames on top of the armoire. They are from all our trips to Disneyland. Michael and I went once every year from 2000 - 2006. It was a tradition of mine to get a new picture frame every time.

Here is a close up of the desk with 3 more Disney pictures. The one on the top right was from our trip to Disney World.

This is the very small closet that is crammed full of scrapbook and card making materials. Now if you're wondering how I keep my office this clean don't let these pictures fool you. It was an absolute mess right before I took these pictures. It's been that way for about two months so this was great motivation to get it all cleaned and organized. Hopefully I'll get in a mood to scrapbook or make cards since I'm terribly behind.

Show Us Where You Live Friday

This week Kelly is challenging us to show off our child's room/nursery.

This is Owen and Jack's room right when you walk in the door. We put the boys in the same room a few months ago and they've been doing really well sleeping together. There are two things that are different since I took this picture - Owen doesn't have the safety railing on his bed anymore and there is a big blanket covering the window so the boys will sleep in longer than 5am!

Here is Jack's side of the room. They both have name signs and their ultrasound pictures over their beds. I love the changing table that my parents bought me. I used it all the time when Owen was a baby, but Jack just hates it. I haven't changed him on it since he started rolling over.

This the other side of the room. That dresser is part of a set I got for Michael years ago. A lady was selling a ship wheel mirror that went with 2 dressers, a small deck and a twin headboard. I just wanted the mirror, but she wouldn't split the set up so I bought the whole thing hoping we would eventually have a boy.

Before we moved the boys into one room together Owen had his own big boy room and Jack was in the nursery so I thought I would show you those pictures as well.

This was Owen's big boy room that he had all to himself before and shortly after Jack was born. I got his crib off Craigslist for $20 and later sold it for $30!

Here's the other side of his big boy room. The reason we painted the silver stripe on the wall was to camouflages the magnet board that's hanging on the wall to the left of the dresser. Now that Owen and Jack are sleeping together in the other room this room is our guest room.

Now for the nursery that was both Owen's and Jack's after they were first born.

I never actually took pictures of it with Jack's name sign over the crib, but he did have this room all to himself for a few months. If you haven't noticed by now we love this color blue. The funny thing is we didn't know it was the same exact color we just keep randomly picking this blue and painting their rooms with it.

Michael's mom and I spent hours painting this room before Owen was born. The saying on the top of the wall says, "No earthly joy can bring more pleasure, than a little boy to love and treasure!"

The whole room had a Noah's Ark/Star theme so this was his shelf with all the Noah's Ark knick knacks that I had collected over the years. Now since the the boys are sleeping together this room is our home office.

Show Us Where You Live Friday

This week Kelly asked us to show off our Dining Room.
A little over a year ago a friend suggested that we move our dining room into the room we were using as our formal living room. Let me rephrase that...move our dining room into the room we never used because it was set up as a formal living room and there was no TV in that room. So with our friends help we did just that and I love it. The room is much bigger than our old dining room.
This is the view of the dining room once you walk in from the garage. In our condo Michael's office had a nautical theme to it, but at this house we decided to decorate the dining room with it instead. The ship wheel mirror and the dresser beneath it is part of a set I bought from a lady at my old job. It was an entire boys bedroom set that came with 2 dressers, a small desk, mirror and a twin headboard. I really just wanted it for the mirror though. The other pieces have definitely come in handy though. I put all of our Christmas picture cards around the mirror and keep them up all year.

This is the view of the dining room when you walk in from the entryway. The dining room is truly the heart of our home. We use it for all 3 meals and most the time Owen ends up sitting at the table drawing with crayons, markers or playing with Play-Doh. The sliding glass door goes out to our nice big deck that is partially covered.

These two pictures sets are on the walls that you can't see in the pictures above. The upper photos are professional pictures that we had taken when our oldest son Owen was 2 1/2 months old. The lower photos are photos we took of our youngest son Jack when he was 3 1/2 months old. I love these pictures!

And for fun here is a picture of what our dining room looked like before we moved it. This room is now used as our playroom as pictured in a previous edition of
Show Us Where You Live Friday.
