Organizing

With Jack's due date only 2 months away I've really been trying to organize and get everything ready. Since Owen came 3 1/2 weeks early I'm trying to be completely prepared by then. Yesterday I was putting all the newborn and 0-3 month clothes for Jack in his closet and dresser. Owen thought he would be a big helper so he took almost every pair of socks out of the Rubbermaid container and walked them over to the gate on the staircase and dropped them on the other side. At first I was too busy to notice exactly what he was doing and then I realized and walked over there. There was about 7-10 pairs of socks all down the staircase. The cats were in heaven having all those socks to play with. This morning he did the same thing except this time it was with a box of pantyliners. While I was in the shower I realized that Owen hadn't came over to open the shower doors in a while so I started wondering what he was up to. I peeked out the door to see a box of pantyliners all over the bathroom floor and he was picking up one at a time and walking them over to the jacuzzi tub and dropping them in. By the time I was done with my shower there were about 15 pantyliners in the tub. Whatever keeps him entertained is fine by me!!!

Owen's New Room

We finally got everything on the walls in Owen's new room. I just love how it turned out. I have envisioned this room in my head for a while now and it turned out better than I thought it would. I just love the bright colors. The only thing I'm still trying to find is a light blue, lime green or bright orange bean bag chair. I've been able to find bean bag chairs, but they are all girly colors or sport team logos. If anyone see one that would go with his room please let me know.

Yesterday Ga-Ga and Pa came over to watch Owen so I could go get my haircut. Ga-Ga had worn her Mariner's clothes to work so her and Owen were all set to watch the game.

Opening Day!

Michael and I are much more interested in football than baseball, but Ga-Ga and GG are both die hard baseball fans. GG bought Owen this whole Mariners outfit last year sometime and he's just fitting into it. So in honor of Opening Day I just had to dress him up in it!

Hey...where am I?

On Friday night Owen slept in his new room for the first time. I'm not quite ready to post pictures of the room because we don't have everything on the walls yet. I wasn't sure how Owen would do because he loves his old room and his crib and both of those are new now. I made sure that we played a lot in the room before it was time for him to sleep in it though. He did great! I on the other hand was laying there in bed thinking, "He's so far away"!

29 Weeks

On Monday I had another doctor's appointment. It was the same normal routine. Check my weight, I only gained 3.5lbs this time. Check my protein and glucose levels, listen to Jack's heartbeat and measure the growth of my uterus. Right now I'm measuring a week ahead of schedule, but that's doesn't mean that Jack will necessarily come early. I did ask the doctor about the fears I've been having about my water breaking prematurely like it did with Owen. She basically told me it's not something to worry about because they can't change whether or not it's going to break early. We'll just have to wait and see. Watch Jack will be so cozy in there they'll have to go in and get him out on his due date.

Easter

We spent Easter Sunday with my family down in Orting. We had lasagna for dinner...my favorite. We also watched the movie Evan Almighty and just hung out. It was great fun!

Fun @ the Park

On Saturday Owen and I went to Grandma & Grandpa Grant's house and left Daddy at home so he could have a day all to himself. Lucky Guy! Ga-Ga had just gotten back from the Urgent Care place because she hurt her right arm, but she was up for having fun with us anyways. I brought the wagon down with us so we took a walk over to the park that's in their neighborhood. At first there were no kids around, but then 10 kids just showed up and about 15 minutes later they were gone so for the most part we had the whole park to ourselves. It was a beautiful day to be outside. In fact on the way back home we took the long way so we could check out all the houses that are for sale in the neighborhood just for fun.

Babysitting Samantha

On Friday I babysat my youngest niece Samantha. She's almost 5 months old now. Her Mom Becky was taking her older sister Camryn to see The Wiggles at the Tacoma Dome. I was a little concerned how Owen would do because he tends to get very jealous of Mommy paying attention to other kids. I had Jon (Samantha's Dad) get Owen's old bouncy chair out of the garage so I would have some place to lay Samantha and he also brought our swing back that they have been borrowing. Overall Owen did really well. I made sure I put Samantha down and paid attention to him when she didn't really need me and that helped. The only time Owen got really mad was when it was time for Samantha to have her bottle. He just knew that I was feeding her HIS milk and he wasn't going to stand for that. Thankfully Michael I got home from work early so he took care of Owen so poor Samantha could actually eat instead of having her bottle ripped away by a 14 month old. I'm thinking we are going to have to transition Owen from the bottle to the sippy cup before Jack gets here or there are going to be problems!
