Short Visit!

Friday, June 22nd Logan came over for a short visit. Jen had called me the day before to see if we would be home.

The girls got about 3 hours together and of course they had a wonderful time.

I still can't get over how much taller Logan is than Ella!

Ella and I will be heading to Spokane later this summer for a girls trip! Can't wait!!!

The Last Day Of School 2018!

Wednesday, June 20th was the last day of school for the kids.

When I had printed out the teacher gift tags I remembered that I needed to also print out the kids first day of school pictures. I like to have them hold their first day of school pictures on their last day of school.

Poor Ella Bean woke up with her face swollen. The day before she had field day so I think it was either from something she encountered outside or it was from the sunscreen she put on her face. Of course she was a total emotional girl and was crying saying she didn't want to go to school. I gave her an allergy pill and thankfully by the time I picked her up from school it had already improved.

I can't believe my Zeke boy has finished his first year of school!

Jackson thought it was quite fun that he just happened to wear a Spiderman shirt on the last day of school since he wore a Spiderman shirt on the first day of school.

I have a middle schoolers! That's just nuts!

This is the real life shot!

And this is the staged shot!

I love this shot!

My monkey or sloth is all done!!!

Ella with her friend Riley!

We got a picture with Ella's speech therapist Mrs. Phyall. We love her!!

My favorite part of the last day of school. The bus drivers honk their horns and all the teachers stand and wave.

The boys were waiting for me by the parent circle.

Since the older boys teachers don't walk them out anymore we had to go back inside so I could get a picture. We found Ms. East right away.

She is actually moving to another school closer to home. I'm happy for her, but sad that none of my kids will be taught by her.

We actually weren't able to locate Mr. Herman so Owen didn't get a picture with his teacher.

Ella earned a trophy at the assembly since she was the top girl runner in the whole first grade class.

After I picked up the kids at school we went home and got all packed up and ready to go to the beach. Then we left to pick up Michael at work so we could go to lunch. Since Michael drives a company car he can't drive it for personal use.

This was the first time the kids got to see Daddy at work as the Big Boss.

He was totally embarrassed that I wanted to take a picture of him. The ladies in the office loved it though.

His name is on the window now!

Our tradition for lunch on the last day is to go to Dairy Queen for the $5 lunch.

We all got chicken strips except this guy got a BBQ burger.

We always eat lunch first and then go up and get our ice cream treats.

Owen was so proud of himself for licking his ice cream cone so little.

After that we head out to Coulon Park...the kids favorite beach.

Normally we go to Seahurst, but the kids didn't want to be in salt water.

This girl hates salt water...it makes her itchy!

She was so excited to be at the beach.

I'm not even sure we made it to the beach last summer....maybe once, but not more than that!

Digging and digging!

Even though the weather doesn't look nice and really felt warm.

This was Michael's first time coming with us to the beach...he hates the beach. He does not like lake water and he gets bored just laying around.

Thankfully I brought the beach umbrella...it provided just enough shade so Michael made it 2 hours.

I also brought snacks to keep the kids happy.

After we had been there an hour or so the sun started to really break through the clouds.

The kids could have been at the beach all day long, but then Daddy enticed them with a surprise.

Incredibles 2!!!!

It was a great way to start summer!!!!

Kindergarten & 5th Grade Graduation!

On Wednesday, June 13th I went to school to see Zeke's Kindergarten graduation.

Here's Ms. Davidson's class all lined up ready to go to the stage.

My Zeke boy always nervous with this fingers in his mouth.

Zeke got an attendance award. No one in the kindergarten class had perfect attendance, but they also give out awards for excellent attendance. Zeke fell in that category which was 95% - 99% attendance.

Here's Ms. Davidson giving Zeke his graduation certificate.

All the cute little kindergarten graduates. Class of 2030!

After Ms. Davidson's class got their certificates they sat down and then Ms. Jackson's class got their certificates. Once all the classes were done the kiddos went back to their classes to grab all their things.

Us parents had to go outside and pick them up like normal.

I had Zeke give Ms. Davidson her teacher gift then since I know how crazy the last day of school is.

I also got the best news....Ms. Davidson is moving to 5th grade so there is a chance she might actually teach Jackson next year. I'm crossing my fingers she does!

Zeke and I waited for Ella to get out so she could give Ms. Sawyer her teacher gift.

We also got the fun news that Ms. Sawyer is getting married this summer. Come September she will be Mrs. Chon. I hope she ends up being Zeke's 1st grade teacher next year.

A couple days later on Friday, June 15th I went back to school so I could be there for Owen's 5th grade graduation. I decided that I would attend the kids graduations when they graduate from kindergarten and 5th grade.

Owen is in the middle with his blue shirt. He was also part of the group that had excellent attendance with 95% - 99%.

This was during the last full week of school and it was Spirit week. Friday was pajama day so that's why Mr. Herman is wearing pajama pants. :)

Mr. Herman is giving Owen his 5th grade graduation certificate.

Cute boy in his "Tacocat spelled backwards is Tacocat" shirt! He's such a hoot! :)

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this on the blog, but Owen will actually be staying at Woodmont instead of going on to Sacajawea. Woodmont is a K8 school so Owen will be at the middle school portion of Woodmont. He's so happy to be staying there and so am I. I'm happy that all my kids will be in the same school for 4 years.

Father's Day 2018!

On Father's Day all the dads got honored at church. They have all the guys go up front to get their gifts and then Pastor Andy prays for them.

This year the gifts were bags of Hostess Donuts. The label on the donuts said, "Donut you know you're an awesome Dad!"

We also hang up a Father's Day backdrop for families to take pictures with their Dad!

Then I got in the picture too!

Then Pastor Andy decided to join the family as well! :)

Of I needed a picture with my Dad!

And just me and my man!

Then all the adults!

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram then you know that I recently bought this dress even though it's outside my comfort zone to wear dresses. Since buying this one I've bought two more dresses from Amazon...love free returns even though I've never had to return anything yet. This dress is amazingly comfortable and it has pockets. I think all dresses should have pockets.

Best Dada ever!!!

After church Mom and Dad came over and Michael made steaks and mom made her awesome ranch potatoes. The kids and I got Michael the movie Rogue One and I gave Pa a card and homemade sugar cookies. Ga-Ga & Pa hung around for a while and then headed home.

After they left we all sat down to watch Rogue One. Michael has seen it a few times and one of the things he really wanted for Father's Day was to take a nap. So he mainly napped while we watched the movie.

After that we headed down to Taco Time for dinner. Owen completely surprised us by thoroughly enjoying his crispy taco with only beef.

Next we went down to Des Moines Beach Park. Owen had been begging all day to go to the beach!

Ella, Zeke & Jack climbed up on the rocks right away.

Miss Rachael had gotten Zeke a kite for his birthday so we wanted to take it for a flight.

He was trying so hard to get it to take flight by running.

After a while the wind picked up, but by then Zeke had lost interest so Jack took it for a spin.

It was pretty fun when it was up in the air!

The weather was beautiful!

I was having trouble with the kite spiraling so Michael had to come fix it.

Ella had lots of fun collecting shells. A boy from the beach helped her find this giant shell so she could put her smaller shells in it.

Owen's such a cool dude with his new glasses that have transition lenses.

The wind was really come and go so it was difficult to fly the kite for long periods of time.

We also spent some time turning over rocks looking for crabs.

I found this big one, but sadly he was dead.

Owen's turn at the kite.

Daddy heading over to check for more crabs.

Owen got the kite as high as it could go!

It was a great day getting to celebrate Michael and Pa.
