Funny Stories

Here are a few funny things the boys have said lately...
About a month ago I was looking through the Costco coupon book and saw that they had chocolate chips on sale. I was so excited that I said, "oh this is great I'm going to buy chocolate chips and make cookies from scratch...they're gonna rock". That's when Owen piped in and said, "Rocks in cookies are no good!"

One of Owen favorite words is giant. He loves to find giant rocks or take a giant bite and so on. Anyways the other day he was in the front yard and he had been pulling vines out from the garden bed thinking they were sticks. A little while later he came running up to the door with a vine in his hands yelling, "I got a giant dick!" Sometimes the words don't come out quite right! :)

A few nights ago I was asking Jack to point to his body parts. I was saying things like, "Where's your nose? Where's your lips?" He would point to them and say the name and he was doing really good. Then when I asked him where his wee wee was he looked at me and said, "It's hidin'!" He was wearing pants so he was right it was hidin'!

Jackanese

Jack is saying new words everyday. He is pretty much repeating whatever we say!
Ahbee = airplane - He will point up in the sky when a plane flies overhead and says this very excitingly.
Ambee = Ambulence
Lala = Ella
No-No = Pooh bear blanky he sleeps with
Av dat = Have that
Chow = McQueen from Cars (He says it this way because McQueen says Kachow in the movie)
Daaa = Doc from Cars
Foe = Flo from Cars
Maa = Mack from Cars
Nay-Nay = Mater from Cars
Gukee = Cookie Monster
Nernie = Ernie
Meemee = Mickey Mouse
Menee = Minnie Mouse
Dondald = Donald Duck
Goat = Coat
Soooo = Soap
Tuttle = Turtle
How = House
Choo choo = Train
Boo = Boot
Mmm eye!! = Mine (Thanks Ga-Ga! :))
Ello = Yellow
Dow = Down
Dant U = Thank you
Jack can now make the sounds for a cat, dog, monkey, pig and his sound for rooster is CACO!
He can point to his ears, nose, hair, belly, wee wee and his teeth. He can also beep his nose if you ask him too and give high fives. He's actually been able to do the high fives for a long time, but I never blogged about it before...at least I don't think I have! :)
Just today when Michael was walking out to the garage to get something he waved and said, "Bye bye Daddy!"

Jackanese

Jack's vocabulary skills are just shocking all of us. He's only 16 months old and uses at least 20 words on a regular basis. I'm sure it has something to do with being a second child and having an older brother to look up too. Plus a super talkative Mama probably helps too! :)
Here are his new words...
Bubble = Bubble or Bottle
Bubba = This is what we call Owen because Jack can't say Owen yet.
Ball = His favorite toy ever...maybe second to the broom!
Ga-Ga = Grandma Grant
Ga = Pa aka Grandpa Grant
Abble = Apple - He can even point these out when we look at books
Go = Go bye-bye, Where did it go? or Goat
Ona = Vonda our neighbor
Mawman = Mailman
Meal = Milk
Ber = Bear
Baybee = Baby
Gar = Car
Jack now knows how to sign please, milk and chap stick. I'm not sure if it's the sign for chap stick, but he puts his thumbnail on his lip and rubs it around if he wants some on his lips. Both Owen and Jack LOVE chap stick.
Jack can make the sounds a cow and an elephant make.
When Jack eats if it's something he likes he goes, "Mmmm" just like Mama. I'm a very noisy eater if I like what I'm eating. I definitely enjoy food and so does Jack.
The other day I asked Jack where the baby was and he pointed to himself. Then I said, "Where's Jack?" and he pointed to himself and said, "Da Baybee!" As if to say, "Hello Mama I already told you!"

Mamo

Jack LOVES "Mamo" and I just wanted to get him on video saying "Mamo". He's so funny because we are constantly calling him Elmo so he will know the correct name, but sometimes Jack looks at us and says, "Mamo!" like WE are the ones saying it wrong. During the video Daddy and Owen were having fun playing tag and around the 38 second mark you'll see Owen totally slam Michael in the back with both his knees. OUCH!!!

Jackanese

Jack has really started expressing himself so much more in the last few weeks So I thought it was about time to start posting about his cute words and actions.

Jack can say the following words...

Mama

Dada
No-No
Hi

Nigh-Nigh
Ah Oh

Maw = More

Mamo = Elmo

Ahh Duh = All Done

Jack can do the signs for - more, again and all done. He does his own sign for No-No which involves him pointing his finger and shaking it up and down.
The other day when I was reading an animal book to Jack he pointed to the goat and said, "Go". He also does the moo sound when we get to the page with the cows.

He can wave hello and bye-bye. He loves to blow kisses. Oh and his new thing is if I ask him to wash his hair, he does the actions for it.

I've been trying to teach him his body parts, but he doesn't really seem interested in that at all.
