Not Me Monday!

Wow...I did not totally forget what day of the week it was and forget about posting my NMM until 8:15pm!!! That would never happen!
1. I did not spend the last 3 days having a garage sale at my house and in turn completely neglect my house. I am a totally Suzy Homemaker and on top of it all the time.
2. I did not do at least 5 loads of laundry today!
3. Yesterday while eating a bowl of Frosted Flakes I did not have the entire bowled pulled down all over me by my ferocious eater of a 1 year old. I did not end up having to change all my clothes with the exception of my bra.
4. I did not actually turn my phone off while the boys were napping so I myself could catch a few zzz's and not be interrupted. I am always in the mood to talk to my friends or family especially during the hours of 2 - 4.

Show Us Where You Live Friday

So this week Kelly has us showing off our entryways/foyer. We don't really have a big enough area to call it a foyer, but I do happen to have pictures so here goes.

First things first...the front door. When we moved after going to Lowe's and Home Depot for a million different things we came across this really nice look door handle. It didn't really work with the old door, but Michael was sure he could fix it will filler or puddy or whatever. Okay needless to say it was a disaster and lead to racing to Lowe's before they closed or Michael would be sleeping on the floor of our living room because there was no lock on the door.

Here's the end result...new door and nice new knob.

Close up...it's nice, but it wasn't worth all the trouble.

Right when you come in the door you see our stairs. We ripped out the old carpet and had new Berber carpet put it. Michael also painted all the molding white.

This is an old picture, but I was lazy and didn't want to take a new one. The only thing that's different is there is a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs and the decorations on the bench have now been replaced with a shoebox full of Owen's undies in case he has an accident I don't have to run upstairs to get a new pair...did I mention I was lazy?

Here is our entryway closet. I love how big it is. Our old condo had such a small closet so this was a nice surprise. It holds all our coats, the vacuums, extra purses and a bunch of other random things that I have no clue where else to put them.

Michael put all new 6 panel doors throughout our house. It was a lot of work, but it really makes the house look nice and new.
Thanks for stopping by!

Gravity Hurts

Water + Sun = Growth

Take a look at these bad boys...I mean big boy tomatoes. Yummy! In a month or so these will make a terrific topping on a nice juicy hamburger. Okay now I'm hungry!
These are my cherry tomatoes.

Our sugar snap peas literally grew overnight. One day they were just little blossoms and now there are peas shooting out everywhere. I love sugar snap peas so the more the merrier.

I picked a few and we had them for dinner tonight. I used www.Allrecipes.com and found an awesome recipe for Mushroom Chicken Piccata. It turned out so good. So good in fact that we all scarfed it down before I thought to take a picture. Oh well...next time and trust me there will be a next time it was that good.

Jack's First Haircut

So I finally gave in and decided it was time to cut Jack's mullet curls off. Michael's been chomping at the bit to cut it for a really long time. If you've seen pictures of Michael you know why this is...the man has had the same short buzz cut for the last oh 15 years or so. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

A last look at those beautiful curls!!!

I was actually surprised that Jack didn't get scarred of the shaver at all.

He wasn't too sure about us leaving him sitting on the bathroom vanity like that though.

All done....sniff sniff! He looks like such a big boy!

FYI...this was the very first time I used the strike through tip that MckMama shared on her blog.

This is what happens...

if you don't move the remote control away from Owen when it's nap time.
On Friday while we were at my friend Steph's house we put Owen down for his nap in their bed. I didn't really give the room a good look through so I didn't notice the remote. When Jack woke up from his nap I went in to get him and I could here voices coming from Steph's room. I opened the door and this is what I found. Owen had turned the TV on and fell asleep!
Oh yeah and not only did we share our germs with Steph, but I completely forgot to bring a Pull-Up for Owen to sleep in and since Eddie and Steph actually put him in bed I didn't even think about it until he had been asleep for 2 hours so...he peed in their bed. What great house guests are we!!!

Not Me Monday!

Check out the new logo created for NMM!!! I like it! MckMama had fun having people be creative and come up with something new and this is the one she picked as the winner. With that being said....

1. Our family has not been struggling with the stomach flu for almost a week now. We are insanely healthy people and never get sick like this.

2. Last Friday when I thought the stomach flu had pasted us by the boys and I did not go and visit my friend Steph and in turn get her sick. I do not go hanging out with people and spread my germs all around.

3. On Friday while we were with Steph we made a trip to Walmart...upon getting out of the car I did not noticed that Jack had something peculiar on his face only to find out that he had had the biggest blowout diaper to date and had smeared it on this face. This does not happen to my baby. He is always able to keep his poop inside his diaper. I did not subsequently strip him naked and have him stand barefoot on the Walmart pavement so I could clean him up and he wouldn't get anymore poop on my car.

4. Jack has not have 3 more blowout diapers since Friday.

5. I did not go to Victoria's Secret yesterday to get new bras because I'm barely nursing anymore I shouldn't really be wearing a nursing bra. I did not have to get measured and upon learning what my actually size was almost weep in the store. I am not already considering starting a savings account specific to enlarge my breast size.

Birthday Present Revealed

For Jack's first birthday we bought him a swimming pool. This week it's been really warm so I decided to set it up for the boys.
Leading Jack out to the pool.

This isn't just a pool it's a water park. I got it at Big Lots on sale for $30. The orange part is a basketball hoop and 4 ring tosses. You can also hook up the hose to it so it will sprinkle water down into the pool. The yellow part is a slide.

I won't lie it didn't start out all fun it took Jack a while to get the hang of it, but he really did start enjoying himself once he got into splashing.

Last year Owen wouldn't sit down in the pool so this is a big step.

Cute bathing beauties!

Summer Days Are Here!

Fruit Popsicle here I come!
Now that's one tart Tangerine Popsicle.
Wait a second I'm feeling left out here....

Yummy!

Jack only took that one bite it was a little too tart for him. Owen on the other hand shared most of it with me.

Lake Wilderness

On Monday the boys and I headed to Lake Wilderness to hang out with my friend Julie and her kids Louise and Kadyn.
It was such a beautiful day to be by the water.

Owen almost immediately wanted to go down to the water and play.

Julie's church playgroup was all there for a day of fun so there were lots of other kids. The kids were making a mini lake and a river that flowed back down to the Lake.

Owen loves to play with his wagon and so did all the other kids. It was definitely a hit when we first showed up. The bigger kids were pull it and going really fast. Owen wanted a turn, but he doesn't like going fast so it didn't end well. After a while the older kids got tired of the wagon so Owen got to pull Jack around and a slower pace.

While I was down playing with Owen at the water Julie gave Jack another ride.

This is pretty much what Owen did the whole time. He did figure out that it's pretty cool to throw the water up in the air too. Of course I didn't think to change the boys into their swim trucks because I didn't think they would get THAT wet. Note to self....change the kids into their swim trucks!!!

Jack discovered the water right before we were getting ready to leave. He is such a thrill seeker so he just wanted to head out into the water.

The boys both loved being swung around having their feet touch the water. It was a great time spent with friends and the boys were so tired. We got home a little after 2 and they both slept until 5! YAHOO!

Driving Mr. Martin

Owen loved driving his new Jeep on Sunday night. In the video you'll see him push one of the screw or bolt heads on the hood. For some reason he thinks that is the on button instead of the key that's right next to the steering wheel. It's cute to see him use his imagination. We've since moved the Jeep to the back deck so he can play with it more often.

Let's Ride!

I am a Craigslist fanatic. I love selling and buying things I find. I've been looking for one of those red Cozy Coupe Cars with canopy over them for quite a long time. However, they always end up being either too expensive or too far away. On Sunday I came across this cute little Jeep and it was only about 15 minutes away from our house and the best part it was only $20!
Owen hoppin' in his Jeep to go for a ride.

At first I put Jack in the back like this, but it didn't really look terribly comfortable.

Jack got a turn driving...it didn't last very long though.

Next I put the tailgate down and that looked much more comfortable. Thankfully Jack just sat there and didn't try to get down.

It all ended badly when I tried to see if both the boys would fit in the driver seat. Pushing, shoving and shedding of tears...oh my!
