FlyLady Update

It's been a while since I've done a FlyLady update and let me just say that the relaxing...oh wait crazy days of summer have not helped keep me on a schedule. I admit it...I have fallen off the FlyLady bandwagon...not completely, but still I have fallen!

I still swish and swipe....sometimes. I was trying to get a new routine going, but I haven't quite gotten in the habit of it yet. I had gotten to the point where I thought it was a little excessive to clean the master bathroom EVERYDAY. Also I was trying to figure out when to clean the other 2 bathrooms. So I figured out a schedule that I thought would work...Sunday - Master / Monday - Half / Tuesday Hallway / Wednesday - None / Thursday - Master / Friday - Half / Saturday - Hallway. But I have found that if I don't do it first thing in the morning it doesn't get done.

I still shine my sink...sometimes. I have found that at night our schedule for our dish washing loads have been off. With that I mean that before dinner the dishwasher won't be full enough to run, but after dinner there are too many dishes to fit. So when it comes time to shine my sink there are dishes in it and the dishwasher is running. That happens to me all the time. I'm trying to get back in the groove though.

I still make my bed...most of the time! This last week with me and the kids being down for the count with illnesses I was sleeping in a lot. I might not have made the bed the second I got out, but it would definitely get made.

I still do a load a day...sometimes more! I have decided that I don't really like doing laundry on the weekends so in an effort to take those days off I try to do two loads twice a week. This just works out for me and doesn't really matter one way or another. With all the puking that's been going on lately we've been up to our armpits in laundry though!

In regards to the Missions that FlyLady sends out I haven't been keeping up with those at all. This summer has been super crazy with our busy schedule, illnesses (kids have had the stomach flu twice and it always spans 2 weeks each time) and with all my sanity issues that doesn't lend for keeping up with new things. With that being said I'm supposed to do a presentation on FlyLady this Fall/Winter at MOPS so I'm getting my Control Journal out on Monday and I'm hopping back on!

Heaven Is For Real!

While I was up all night dealing with my medical issues I was able to finish the book Heaven Is For Real. It was a super quick read and such a wonderful account of a family dealing with their sons illness and then discovering that he knew things he shouldn't and in turn finding out that he actually went to Heaven. It was really beautiful!

After reading the book it really made me reflect on my babies. I don't want to give away part of the story, but it made me think of the two that are there waiting for us. This last month has been hard...I've gone through a roller coaster of emotions. Anger tends to be the main one. I wanted Kyan so badly and then dealing with my depression and getting the meds worked out. The first medication I was on was working okay, but it's not a good medication to be on if you want to get pregnant. I very much want to have a fourth child here on earth so we are hoping that is in our future.

For now my mood has been better and it's been helping me to enjoy the here and now and love on our three beautiful blessings!

Because It Might Be The Only Summer Day We Get!

This morning it occurred to me that Mom's usually take their kids to the sprinkler park during the week, but I bet it never crosses their mind on the weekend when Daddy is home. So we got all packed up and headed to the one in Federal Way and this is what we found...

We seriously were the only ones there! Okay for about 2/5 seconds and then another Mom came out of the restroom with her daughter, but still it was only that family and us for about a half an hour at least!

Of course we sat down and ate lunch...Owen says "Cheese!"

Jack says, "I don't want to!"

"Okay...Cheese!"

Ella says, "Huh?"

At first Owen observed the water from afar.

Jack was fine running through as long as you were with him.

Daddy was showing Ella how to splash.

She really loves these little water fountains.

Getting soaked!

Weeeee!!!

Cute fair skins boys!

Owen liked blocking the water from coming out of this one.

"I got water in my eyes Mom!"

Towards the end of our time I took Ella over to the little kid play area and she practiced going up and down on this cool bridge. By the time she was done practicing she had been able to control her body and get down once without falling....that's a big deal for Ella since she's not very coordinated with her body yet.

Mmmmmm...okay I'm ready to go now!

We spent about 2 hours there and by time we left there was really only 8 families there. So I think my theory was correct if you want to go to the sprinkler park and avoid crowds go on the weekend.

What...You Don't Seatbelt In Your Veggie Tray???

Time For A Check-Up!

Last Friday I took all the kids to the dentist. Thankfully not all at once though! My friend Jen lives near our dentist so she watched Ella and I took the boys. Then I came and dropped off the boys and took Ella. It really worked out well!

Owen is a total pro at the dentist! He just hops up in the chair and doesn't even need me there. They even got really good x-rays and they scrubbed off the stains on his front teeth too.

Jack did better this time. He gets really nervous, but he sat on my lap and let her clean and floss his teeth. She was also able to get x-rays for the first time. The only part he didn't like was when they put the fluoride on his teeth.

Ella was quite shy and I don't blame her with all the trauma she experienced with dentists earlier in the year. She did let the hygienist clean her teeth and then the dentist got a good look at the inside of her mouth and her wound is all healed!!! She also didn't like the fluoride treatment. All in all the kids did great and there were no cavities!

Medical Absence!

Over the last week and a half our house has been plagued! First it was Ella that got sick last week. Then after she was sick I had some issues with a new anti-depressant I was on. Let's just say 3 night of barely any sleep, numerous trips to the bathroom, 1 trip to Urgent Care and 1 trip to the ER later and the conclusion was....the new anti-depressant was causing all my issues! Irritating to say the least! Then earlier this week Owen started throwing up and Jack joined him last night. Thankfully Michael and I have not gotten on the puking bandwagon and I hope we don't. Anyways...that's the reason why I haven't blogged in a few days.

Now back to your regularly schedule programing...please!!!

Because Some Days She Doesn't Want To Be Photographed!

But she looked SO pretty in her dress that Daddy picked out for her...

and her pigtails were just right...

I couldn't help myself, so I captured the moment.

Side Note: I can't believe that she's going to be 18 month on the 16th of August!

Even Butter Isn't Safe In Our House!

On Wednesday when I was making dinner I took a half a stick of butter out of the refrigerator to make Alfredo Sauce and put it on the island. After being interrupted and leaving the kitchen to go do something I came back to this...

We have a butter-loving 3 year old in our house! Seriously look at the chunk taken out of that! That just makes my stomach turn, but Jack loves it!

Here's a little video of me asking him what happened. Of course once Owen found out that Jack got a bite of butter he wanted one, but he didn't seem as enthusiastic about it. My favorite part about the movie is when Jack says that butter is scrumptious!

If you were curious about what we ended up having it was Peppered Shrimp Alfredo from Allrecipes.com. The only thing we left out was the cayenne pepper since the kids don't like spicy food. We also made the Alfredo Sauce from scratch...the only thing we did different from that recipe was add some cream cheese to all the other ingredients. Dinner was so...well scrumptious!

He's Been Quality Checked!

On Sunday when we were at Ga-Ga & Pa's Jack needed some new undies so Ga-Ga put him in a new pair that she had purchased. The next morning he was wearing them and right above his penis was this little sticker!

It's the simple things that make me laugh!

Farmer's Market!

On Saturday morning Michael was working so the kids and I met up with some friends at the Des Moines Farmer's Market.

I gave the boys each $2 to spend so we roamed around a bit and came across a booth with fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies. The cookies were .75 each, but the lady didn't have any quarters so she gave the boys 2 for a $1. Then later on they each got their own Italian Soda with the rest of their money. I also used some of our WIC Farmers Market Checks to get some fruit and veggies.

As well as meeting up with our neighbor friends we also ran into a friend from MOPS and a couple from our church. It was fun being out in the sunshine and the community.

She'd Be A Survivor!!!

On Sunday morning I went upstairs to get something and the boys followed me up while Ella was still in her highchair eating breakfast...or so I thought!!!

I came downstairs and this is what I found. She had finished her english muffin and decided to climb up on the table and eat what Owen and Jack had left behind.

Of course to her there is nothing wrong with that!

So what I'm climbing on the table Mom!

Look at that face...heaven help me!!!
