Since Ella is now napping in her crib we've had to revise our layout for nap time. Before Owen was sleeping in Ella's room on his McQueen couch/bed. Now Owen "sleeps" in our room. I say "sleeps" because sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. Before we had kids we heard this bit of knowledge from some friends of ours...even if kids won't nap they need to have "room time". We call it quiet time. Owen has to go into our room from 1 - 3:30 or 4 and he can play with his cars or whatever toys he wants to, but he has to be quiet and wait until we come get him.
He's been really good! Occasionally he makes too much noise and we have to remind him that he needs to be quiet. Sometimes he actually falls asleep, but even if he doesn't that's okay. One thing is apparently true...if he doesn't have quiet time he is way more cranky. He needs that down time with minimal stimulation.
Jack is still sleeping in his bed in him and Owen's room. He definitely still needs a nap and sometimes he asks to take a nap. He normally naps from 1 - 3:30 or 4.
Ella is taking 2 naps regularly...one from 9:30 - 11 or 11:30 in the morning and then she goes down from 1 - 3:30. Yes, you read that right...she goes down at the same time the boys do. Praise the LORD! This is something I really strove for...Mama needs some time all to myself during the day. Thankfully it's worked out this way and I will try to keep it this way as long as I can. She still wants to take a third nap, but sometimes she does and sometimes she doesn't. I would rather she not so she'll go to bed at 8, but if she does take a third nap like she was in the picture above it's usually a short one in her car seat or on the floor.
