Last week on Monday I made a quick decision and decided that we were going on an adventure. So on Friday afternoon at 1:26pm we headed out from our driveway...
We drove during nap time in hopes that the kids would sleep. We ended up hitting some traffic and Ella has a hard time sleeping in a stop and go car, but she eventually gave in. Jack held out for a long time and only got about a 45 minute nap. Owen never fell asleep!
Our first stop was one of Michael's favorite restaurants...Joe's Crab Shack. When we were going to Disneyland every year (before kids) we would always eat there since there wasn't one in Washington yet. The one in Vancouver has been open for a few years now we've just never been able to stop so this time we made it a point to stop.
Ella did great...she even ate some potatoes and some corn.
Owen and Jack both ate some chicken and fries.

I wore this lovely bib...the kids thought it was funny that Mama was wearing a bib!
Michael and I shared this Crab Pot and it was SO yummy!

After we ate we got in the car and headed out for the second leg of our trip. We didn't really think about the whole rush hour traffic through Portland thing so we ended up getting to Salem about 10 minutes before the wedding started. There was a lot of striping in the the car and loud stern voices saying things like, "hold still", "come here" and "don't move"! But we did ended up making it in time to the wedding.
The wedding started at 7pm which is a half an hour before Ella's normal bedtime. She stayed awake the whole time and never had a meltdown. I've said it before and I'll say it again...she's such a good baby!
Congratulations Jessie & Bryan!!!
The boys were in heaven...they got to drink and eat whatever they wanted. They even had fun running around on the dance floor.

We stayed at the wedding until 10pm and then went back to the car, changed the kids into their pj's and then hit the road. Ella was asleep in the car before we left the parking lot. Jack feel asleep after we stopped at a truck stop so he could go potty. Owen had a hard time sleeping since his big boy car seat isn't as comfortable. I ended up having to get in the back of the car and sit in between him and Jack's car seats so he could lay his head on me. I have to admit it...I loved every minute! He's going to be 4 soon so anytime he wants to snuggle with me I'll take it! Michael made great time on the way home even with all these silly lane closures on I-5...we literally drove into our driveway at 1:26am...exactly 12 hours after we left! It was a wonderful adventure!
